Frequently Asked Questions
Where will my massage take place?
Your massage will be in a quiet, comfortable massage therapy treatment room. Soft music will be playing as you lie on a cushioned massage table.
Am I required to be completely undressed?
We will stay within your comfort level. Typically, clients are either undressed or wearing undergarments. You will be covered by a sheet and a blanket and proper draping will be used during the treatment.
Will I be covered during the session?
Yes. You will be covered with a sheet and blanket and only the area of the body being worked on will be undraped.
What parts of my body will be massaged?
You and I will discuss your treatment needs and this will determine which part of the body will receive work. It might be necessary to work on your neck, shoulders, back, legs, arms, feet or hands.
What should I do during the massage?
Allow your body to sink into the table and relax. Give your mind a rest from thinking. Concentrate on your breathing. Focus in on the area of the body being worked on.
How will I feel after the massage?
You can expect to feel less tension or pain in your body. You'll feel a sense of relief. Your mind may be less cluttered with thoughts or worries. I recommend that you drink plenty of water prior to and after your massage. Adequate hydration of the soft tissue is needed before your massage in order for the muscles to soften. And drinking water after your massage will help flush toxins out of your body that were released from tight muscles during the treatment.
If you have any questions or concerns about receiving massage therapy, please let me know so that we can discuss these prior to your treatment.
